Abstract

Early Childhood refers to children in the age range of 0-6 years. This period is very crucial in human development, because at this stage there is rapid growth in various aspects, including physical, cognitive, language, social, and emotional. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Ummi method in introducing hijaiyyah letters for children aged 3-4 years at KBT Hadlonah Darussalam, Ponorogo. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach, data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the introduction of hijaiyyah letters using the Ummi method is effectively applied to early childhood by means of repetition and short-fast reading. However, some also have problems with the short concentration/focus of children. so that the continuity of the Koran reading activities carried out by parents at home greatly affects the child's memory and focus in remembering the hijaiyyah letters using short-fast tones. This study is expected to be a reference for optimizing the introduction of hijaiyyah letters in early childhood.
