Abstract

The intersection in Muara Bungo City is a level intersection, so it will cause conflicts that cause several traffic problems such as congestion. To reduce or minimize the conflict, the existing intersection is regulated using a Traffic Signal Device (APILL). The purpose of this study was to determine the current performance of the Muara Bungo Traffic Light and also to analyze the performance of signalized intersections using the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI 2023). This research method uses a quantitative approach, with data collection through surveys, data collection on cycle time, geometry, road environmental conditions, and average daily traffic in the morning, afternoon and evening. The results of the study showed that the average value of the Stopping Vehicle Value (NHK) was 6040.26 SMP, the average Queue Length (PA,) was 610.36 meters, the average Degree of Saturation (DJ) was 6.4 and the average Delay (T) was 282.19. This is because Monday is a working day with morning hours and students going to school with an average Number of Vehicles (C) of 539.77 SMP/hour. From the average value above, it no longer meets the standards of the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI) 2023. For the results of alternative solutions using the Webster method (1966), a cycle time of 160 seconds was obtained, with an average Degree of Saturation of 0.66, which meets the standards of the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI) 2023 DJ = 0.66 <0.85. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the Traffic Light time phase, because according to the analysis carried out, the comparison of Traffic Light performance, using the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI 2023) method, that the Traffic Light at the Muara Bungo PU intersection no longer meets the requirements, it is better to change the design of the APILL intersection.
