Abstract

Motivation is one of the important factors that influence student learning and learning outcomes. Motivation also has several types, including intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. The purpose of this study is to identify the influence of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation on the learning outcomes of Arabic Language Education students at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. This research method is quantitative using simple linear regression analysis. The population of this study were students of the Arabic Language Education Study Program at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta in the 3rd semester of class A in the 2024-2025 Academic Year. The data collection technique used in this study was a questionnaire with 4 Likert scale options and documentation of KHS scores. The results of the study indicate that intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation in Arabic Language Education students at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta are not positive when viewed from the results of a simple linear regression test with a probability value of Sig. obtained 0.26> 0.05 or HI is rejected and HO is accepted, which indicates that there is no significant influence between intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation on learning outcomes. Based on the findings of this study, it is concluded that teachers' efforts to foster students' self-confidence play a crucial role in increasing their learning motivation. With high self-confidence, students are expected to be more engaged in their learning and optimally develop their academic potential, thus positively impacting learning outcomes.
