Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Ijelap: Indonesian Journal of Education, Language, and Psychology must follow the focus, scope, and author guidelines of this journal. The submitted manuscripts must address scientific merit or novelty appropriate to the focus and scope. All manuscripts must be free from plagiarism content. All authors are suggested to use plagiarism detection software to do the similarity checking. Editors check the plagiarism detection of articles in this journal by using a Plagiarism Checker software. 

The research article submitted to this journal will be peer-reviewed by at least 2 (two) or more expert reviewers who had and/or have no (potential) conflict interest with the author(s). The articles will be sent to the peer reviewers to get the Blind Peer Review Process and will be returned to the authors to revise. The reviewers give scientific valuable comments improving the contents of the manuscript.

The final decision of article acceptance will be made by Editors according to reviewers' comments. Publication of accepted articles including the sequence of published articles will be made by Editor in Chief by considering the sequence of accepted date and geographical distribution of authors as well as the thematic issue.

Screening for Plagiarism

In order to ensure that submitted and published articles are free from plagiarism, editors will use Turnitin's web-based software to check the similarity index with a quality standard of 25%. This process is carried out when the author submits the article for the first time (submission) and the second or next time (revision/after being revised based on reviewer input).

If the article meets the standards, the article can be processed to the next stage (review or publish). Otherwise, the author will be asked to correct it.

Apart from using Turnitin, the editor will also check with Google Scholar and other means. This step is intended to ensure that articles are neither the result of plagiarism nor are already sent/published to other journals (double submission).
