The Relevance of Muhammad Iqbal's Educational Thoughts in Solving Individual Social Problems in Society

Education plays a central role in shaping the personality and character of individuals holistically, encompassing not only intellectual aspects but also spiritual and moral dimensions. This study aims to explore Muhammad Iqbal’s concept of human education, including eight dimensions of his thought: individuality, individual growth, physical-spiritual balance, individual-society relations, creativity, understanding of reality, character education, and social education. The method employed is a literature review with a qualitative approach, analyzing various relevant scholarly sources. The findings show that Iqbal’s ideas are highly relevant for shaping individuals who are independent, creative, and spiritual, thus enabling them to become agents of change in society. Iqbal’s educational concept emphasizes not only the transfer of knowledge but also the development of the individual’s entire potential to actively participate in transforming social reality. The integration of intellectual and intuitive strengths, along with the instillation of monotheistic values, serves as the main pillar in creating a society that is academically intelligent, morally wise, and socially responsible. This research is expected to provide both theoretical and practical contributions to the development of education as a solution to the social problems faced by individuals in society.
